TeamViewer is now available on Linux
TeamViewer is a remote assistance program that lets you connect to a user's computer to access the desktop. Such applications are commonly used when there is support from a distance or when an incident can not be resolved by telephone. Finally TeamViewer platform has been reached and Linux systems, as before this software was only available for Windows and Mac (there is also version for iPhone). With this recent move, Linux users can use this remote access software without problems, although with some restrictions because the version that was submitted is in beta.
According to tests done by some users, the stability of TeamViewer for Linux is quite good and although there are several bugs, the overall experience is satisfactory. Remember that this application is free and very popular because it is used by several companies around the world.
For those interested in downloading the application, you have several packages available, both 32 and 64 bits, and used according to the distro, you can choose a download format. These packages are currently available:
• rpm package for Red Hat, Fedora, Suse, Mandriva (32/64-Bits).
• deb package for Debian or Ubuntu (32 Bits)
• deb package for Debian or Ubuntu (64 Bits)
• Package tar.gz
