Google is unstoppable in terms of shopping, and more and more companies added to its portfolio of acquired entities. This occasion has purchased a video platform called Episodic, who had a role in providing tools for those in the field of broadcasting and transmission of events in high definition (HD), such as sporting events. Besides offering a platform for on-demand videos, Episodic offered its customers a sort of Google Analytics on each video, to record the user activity. The number of observers, the time spent watching video, place of origin, connection speed, geographic location, etc..

In conjunction with the statistics module, Episodic made available to users, a system of monetization of content, through advertisements in the videos (such as in YouTube). Given these characteristics, it is logical to assume that the backend of Episodic YouTube will reinforce in many tasks where the site is weak.

No details were specified on the transaction (do not know what was the final purchase price), but it is clear that Google is going around in terms of Internet videos.
