Verizon blocks access to the 4chan forums
Perhaps the name of 4chan is not very familiar to many, but in a nutshell we can say that is one of the communities with more capacity online. Ability to organize and launch actions against those who threaten their interests. Today reported that Verizon, a provider of U.S. mobile telephony was blocking access to 4chan.
The report was made by users of the forum, complained that the requests were made to enter the forums were becoming requests without response, simply because the site did not load. So far, the block seems to be over, or at least is a temporary situation, since it seems that everything works well again.
4chan is mentioned both by virtue of being a powerful community. For example, in July 2009, AT & T blocked parts of the site and the response was immediate. Many users blocking whole IP ranges, redirecting requests to other pages with messages of protest and inciting boycott, LAN switching.
4chan The recognition is based on the power he has to pull sites, either by a direct hack or through denial of service attacks (DDoS). Apparently some representatives from Verizon has done something clever and lifted the blockade that followed, surely unleash the fury of some members of that community.
